At Boomkwekerij Coonen, everything revolves around craftsmanship, quality, and a passion for greenery. We are the specialist in growing ornamental shrubs for traders, garden centers, and nurseries both nationally and internationally. With a range of more than 900 different evergreen and deciduous shrubs, we supply top-quality plants in 2-, 3-, and 5-liter containers.

Two prime locations for optimal growth

Our nursery is divided across two sites:

  • Baarlo – Head location covering 14.5 hectares
  • Kessel – Second location covering 4.5 hectares

With our team, we ensure the best service

We attach great importance to a well-groomed and professional presentation of our plants. That is why we use high-quality labels that give our plants a clean and attractive appearance. These labels contain clear product information for consumers in garden centers, available in no fewer than four languages: Dutch, English, German, and French.

In addition, we can equip our plants with price labels. Each label is fully customized and applied directly to the pot. With the correct details in place, the plant only needs to be placed in the retail area – ready for sale.

For transportation, we use CC trolleys and pallet boxes. This ensures that our plants are delivered to our customers safely, stably, and without damage.

In-house propagation, guaranteed quality

No less than 85% of our plants are propagated in-house through cuttings, grafting, division, and sowing. In this way, we guarantee strong, healthy, and uniform plants that meet the highest quality standards.

Each year, we propagate approximately 2 million plants. We do this together with our permanent staff and temporary workers. Students also play an important role, supporting us on Saturdays and during school holidays.

Thanks to our in-house propagation and our wide range of products, we are a unique company. Our plants find their way to various garden centers and retail outlets throughout the Netherlands and other European countries.

Active on two locations

Our main location is in Baarlo, where we have 14.5 hectares dedicated to container cultivation. In addition, we have a second location in Kessel. Thanks to these two sites, we are able to grow our plants on a large scale while maintaining the same high quality.

With modern greenhouses and spacious container fields, we ensure that our plants can grow optimally to the right size and achieve the best quality.
